As dense and tragic in the gloom comes my soul looking for what was there that disappeared and left, lost, down a path — the gloom of love. Maggie, the girl I loved.
First Kerouac book I’ve read, away from On The Road. I’m only at page thirty three - already I can feel the intensity of the teenage heartbreak.

goatskullbong asked: In honour of Mr Harryhausen's passing, we should do an animation.
Most definitely. I hear you’re quite the professional.

This call-out was originally phrased around divorce, aiming to capture responses to the new ubiquity of separation. We then realised all family set-ups are complex and joyful and hellish in their own way, and warrant inclusion.
This book will document a generation’s relationship with the people that brought it up. This is the first Often and Mistakes Open Call.I’m just putting this out there. Would love you to submit something. x
open call for a new publication by my imprint OFTEN AND MISTAKES, this one is being curated by Grace Denton!
This looks like a good project.

When i was at school my pals and i ran a quarterly art school zine, filled with black and white nonsense. We left it for the next generation to take forth and do what they would with it, but alas they dropped the baton. So, we’re canonizing the beast and giving it one final huzzzah! Before we go on to attempt a ‘grown up’ / ‘life after art school’ zine. Come be involved?

We have a horror film festival on at work just now, Dundead. I’m not a huge horror fan, but have been making an effort to join in the ol’ scary fun. Calling it ‘the ol’ scary fun’ sums up my expertise in frightful films. However, this little bit of horror text caught my eye. Is Edgar Allan Poe esque, but shorter and with a lack of cats.

I’ve been pretty lousy at blogging this month. It just dawned on me, and made me a little sad.
All sorts of exciting and time taking up things have been occurring. New Pitch + Strike projects are underway and also the planning of a YucknYum exhibition and launch - all very exciting. More strenuously, i’ve been (veeeery slowly) moving house. Today was a day of heavy lifting and not riding on the trolleys.
